A THOUGHTFUL SECOND PASS

A toolkit for your own voice.

A good edit makes your ideas easier to understand. Here’s how to get there with phras.ai.

Start with something worth saying.

Paste your draft or upload a plain text or Markdown file. A paragraph, a work email, a research summary, or a complete article all make good starting points. Add your own examples, reasoning, and sources before editing.

Choose how much to change

Polish keeps the edit close to your wording and cleans up stock phrases. Rewrite reshapes sentences for flow and readability. Deep edit compares multiple candidates and runs a critic check for factual risk and changes in meaning. No model can guarantee that every detail survives, so review the result.

Set the tone and language

Natural works well for general writing. Professional favors direct, work-appropriate language. Academic keeps a scholarly register; it does not add sources or verify your bibliography. Conversational and Simple help you reach a broader audience. English and Russian are available editing languages. Latin American Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, German, French, and Polish editing and writing signals are in beta and should receive extra review.

Analyze before you edit

The free analysis measures seven patterns: stock phrases, sentence rhythm, paragraph variation, word variety, repetition, punctuation, and sentence openers. Each signal is shown separately. A lower pattern score means fewer of these measured patterns, not a higher probability of human authorship. Don’t edit good writing just to move a number.

Review what changed

Use the word-change view to compare your original and revision. Check names, quantities, dates, negation, quotations, citations, and domain-specific language. Download your revision as Markdown or copy it into your own editor.

For students and researchers

Use phras.ai as an editing aid where your institution, journal, or supervisor permits it. Keep your source notes and original draft, verify references yourself, and disclose AI assistance where required. phras.ai does not verify authorship, certify originality, generate citations, or guarantee a detector result.

Code blocks, Markdown tables, and HTML blocks are protected by the parser. Inline references and quotations occur inside prose and still need careful review. If exact quoted wording matters, keep it in a protected block or restore it from your source after editing.

For professionals and creators

Start with a concrete audience and outcome. For a work email, state the request and the next action. For an article, retain the examples and point of view that make it yours. Choose Rewrite when the structure is working but the prose needs a clearer rhythm.

Help & getting started

Where is my revision?

Open My documents to view edits and their status. A disconnected browser does not cancel a queued job. If a provider request fails, the worker retries within a budget; unsuccessful work is refunded to your word balance.

How long is text saved?

Input and output are scheduled for deletion after 72 hours once an edit reaches a final state. Download revisions you want to keep. Usage totals, billing records, and operational metadata are retained separately. See Privacy for details.

Does “pattern score” mean AI detection?

No. It is a weighted style heuristic. It has not been calibrated into an authorship probability and should not be used to accuse anyone of AI use. It may respond to short text, genre, or a writer’s linguistic background.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Open Account & billing and choose Manage billing. Cancel renewal there. Purchased credits remain available in your account.
