What counts as a word?
We reserve the input word count when you start an edit, then reconcile it against successfully rewritten prose. Protected code, tables, and skipped sections are returned to your balance. Retries within the same edit do not incur a separate word charge.
Can I use this for academic writing?
Yes. Use Academic tone to improve clarity and readability. Check every quotation, citation, number, and claim before submission. Follow your institution’s rules for AI assistance and disclosure. The writing score is not an academic integrity assessment.
What happens when I cancel?
Cancel renewal in the billing portal. Already purchased word credits stay in your account and retain paid editing access. No new monthly credits are added after the subscription ends.
Does phras.ai guarantee a detector result?
No. Writing signals help you edit; they cannot establish authorship or predict every detector. phras.ai makes no promise of a particular detector score.
